Spudland Trio Takes on Kerryman
Spuds Nick Scott, Robert Gomez and Jeffrey Sprague traveled to Saco, Maine on March 16 for the 10th Annual Kerryman Pub 5k Road Race. The Kerryman Pub Course is a fast, flat one that yields quick times and attracts some of the top local runners. The Spudland trio showed they could more than hold their own, finishing 3rd, 4th and 11th in the field of 737. Sprague's time of 15:55 (5:08/mi) was a personal best and only six seconds behind overall race winner Casey Carroll of Dover, New Hampshire. Only ten seconds behind Sprague came Robert Gomez with a time of 16:05 (5:11/mi) and just a bit behind Gomez was new Spud Nick Scott with a time of 16:38 (5:22/mi.) This was Nicks first time racing since a prolonged down time due to injury. Good job to all Spuds this weekend. |
